Lessons from 2023

I'm a firm believer that we are all teachers for each other. We have the incredible power to inspire, trigger, and mirror each other, giving us opportunities to see ourselves in others allowing us to grow and develop into more aligned and healthier versions of ourselves.

Perhaps my mini story will do one of the above for you…

My last year was challenging. If I were to narrow it down to one lesson I've learned this past year while living in Mexico, it is to stop trying to control most things in my life. This past year, I ventured into Studio ownership, having multiple employees, a studio manager, and a beautiful network of dedicated students. All in a foreign country with a very different culture than I knew. It's clear; I have such abundance and such luck…BUT I am about 1 minute away from blowing it all away. Why? Well, I'm a Controlling City girl, and I have learned most of my business and work ethic from witnessing the burn-and-turn method. The motto is: work my a$$ off, ignore my body's warning signs and then burn out, take months off, reset, and then do it all over again. Yep. That's about it. Sound familiar?

I can’t believe I keep doing this. My poor body.

Mexico has taught me to loosen up around the amount of control I place on my life. Yes, it is essential to have goals and a plan and to execute in a specific direction, BUT I have realized that so many aspects in life are out of our control and just like sand in our hands, the more we squeeze it (control it), the more it will slip out of hands.

So, as I venture into 2024, I am making a promise to myself to lessen the amount of control I put on my life and to LISTEN to my heart & gut (intuition).

Throughout my 16-year career as a Personal Trainer and endless journey of learning more and more about the human body and how brilliant it is, it is no wonder why I am witnessing so many people becoming more stressed, over-weight and feeling like they can't keep up with the demands of life.

So, going back to the original new years questions; in 2024, I deserve to honor what my body is telling me, loosen the control I'm putting on everything, change directions when I feel unaligned and let the universe meet me halfway. This next year, I want to attract people who are seeking help, who are ready to help themselves to find a calmer sense of life, a newfound love for their bodies to allow themselves a more relaxed state of being. I want to inspire people to SLOW DOWN and take time to reconnect with their bodies to GET AHEAD of their health to live a better life for the long haul. I want to share my education and gifts that I have witnessed already helping 100’s of people who have committed to working with me.

“Those who have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.”

“Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live.”
